Uponor Wins PPI Project of the Year

June 17, 2015

The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) recently announced the winners of their 2015 Projects of the Year awards and Uponor's radiant heating and cooling system in the San Diego State University Aztec Center was one of the winners. The LEED Platinum building includes 75,000 ft. (more than 14 miles) of Uponor's Wirsbo hePEX tubing along with 21 Engineered Polymer (EP) Manifolds to complete the radiant heating and cooling system. With help from the Uponor system, coupled with a dedicated outside air system (DOAS), the building is designed to consume 40 percent less energy than a standard HVAC system.
